Tempura Prawns
12 -16 large raw prawns
12 -16 skewers
Oil for deep frying
Tempura batter
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tsp baking
1tsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
2/3 cup ice water
Nuts & Bolts
1. Thread prawns onto skewers
2. Sift together the dry ingredients and set aside.
3. In a medium bowl, beat the egg slightly and mix in water. Stir in dry ingredients stirring only until mixed. Mixture will be slightly lumpy.
4. Dip prawns into mixture and deep fry in oil until golden brown. drain on paper towels.
