Asian 5 Spice Chicken
Serves 4
Asian 5 Spice Chicken
1 kilo chicken chops or thigh fillets with the skin on
Marinade
1/2 tbp garlic paste
1/2 tbs ginger paste
1 1/2 tbs soy sauce
1 tbs oyster sauce
1/ tsp five spice
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tbs brown pepper
1/2 tbs sesame oil
1/2 tbs rice wine vinegar
1 tbs mirin
Nuts & Bolts
1. In a mixing bowl add all the marinade ingredients, mix well. Add chicken making sure all the chicken is coated well. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours, or over night for a better result.
2. Preheat oven to 200c.
3. Using a large baking dish lined with baking paper add chicken. Place chicken in the oven and cook for 15 minutes.
4. Using the remaining marinade you have left in the bowl from the chicken,
After the chicken has cooked for 15 minutes, take out from the oven, using a basting brush, brush the left over marinade over the top of the chicken.
Place the chicken back into the oven and cook for a further 15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked.
